A lovely old theatre that offers celebrity and local professional talent to present inspiring productions with creativity and passion! Inherit the Wind, Brigadoon and new works present a roster of choices for all interested in theater. Local street and Kiosk-paid parking lots- and the places to eat are excellent and unending! My favorite - the one directly across the street from the Theater entrance

Spectacular theater venue with a great variety of shows. Helpful staff overall as well. Very intimate theater space that puts on wonderful pieces of live theatre.
What a gorgeous California State Theater! I've seen a few plays here the past few years. The productions were so varied, too, with great actors giving incredible performances. Amadeus, Cyrano de Bergerac, and One of the Good Ones! What a pleasure to see these productions. I've been seated near the front and also up in the mezzanine and no matter where I was, I had a good clear view of the action onstage. Not a bad seat in the house, tbh. It's nice to hang around the courtyard and enjoy a refreshment before the show, as well. Parking is located nearby and you can pay at a kiosk or with an app. You're in the Playhouse District of Pasadena, too, so you can pass time at Vroman's bookstore or at any great restaurant within walking distance.
Beautiful historic playhouse with the highest quality performances. I saw, “One of the Good Ones” which I HIGHLY recommend. A brilliant and poignant comedy in the storytelling style of Norman Lear - covering sensitive cultural and family dynamics in a meaningful and comedic way. The playhouse is gorgeous, the seats are comfortable. There is limited concessions offered outside, and limited lobby space for gathering before the show. I didn’t see a gift shop. Parking is easy and right across the street. There was a special “Event Parking” price of $5 for the matinee performance I attended. Overall, a stellar experience and I highly recommend this beautiful theater. The only downside is that I’m short, and the seating is almost level, so I had to try to see around the head in front of me for most of the performance. But I would definitely return and bring a cushion to sit on.
Went here to watch a play and live the beautiful play house right there by the Main Street/ downtown area. The courtyard is welcoming and has a concessions stand outside. Once you enter you could be seated on the lower or upper floor. This is an older historic venue so seats can be smaller and closer set. Lots of friendly volunteers to guide you around.
