We had a wonderful tour with Curtis and Bobby. We learned so much about JPL and all their amazing projects. What an incredible place! 90 years of human ingenuity and talent. They are known for all unmanned missions and exploratory satellites. You need a Real ID or passport to enter the faculty. We went on a Saturday and there was a long line at the gate so plan extra time for that. There is a free visitor parking lot and tours start promptly on time. So go early and check out the little visitor center and swags while you wait for your tour to start.
We took the 1:00 PM JPL tour, and it was a great experience for our kids. My wife booked it ahead of time, and tours are only available on weekdays. JPL is close to Pasadena, so it’s easy to get to. Make sure you bring a passport, REAL ID, or foreign passport, because regular driver’s licenses and NEXUS cards aren’t accepted. The tour covered several areas on the JPL campus, and the kids really enjoyed seeing the spacecraft models and mission rooms. A fun and memorable visit.
This is the future, and past all rolled into one. Absolutely fantastic experience. Our guide Mark was a delight and font of knowledge. Next stop Mars!
Bobby & Curtis of NASA were so helpful, educated, inspiring on the JPL visit. They explained the science history and details of JPL relative to other NASA hubs. I really appreciate walk to the mars rover, rocket lab and more! Brandon of Emerging LA & Sunset Ventures was my host - thanks for coordinating the group! I used to live at NASA Moffett in Mountain View, near Google in 2016 when I was a Google Scholar for AI research on self driving cars / machine vision via Dr. Ray Kurzweil’s collab with NASA So messed to be inspired by Science again —- #ScienceIsReal I post mostly on @LunaOfLA my STEM adventures
