No star for the lab lady Today

I have been a Kaiser Permanente member for more than 15 years, and this is the first time I have felt the need to file a complaint about the service I received.
Today, I went to the laboratory for a blood draw. I specifically requested a butterfly needle because I have very small veins and have difficulty with blood draws. Several laboratory staff members in the past have told me that I can request a butterfly needle for this reason.
Unfortunately, the staff member who drew my blood today was extremely forceful when inserting the needle. She poked me so hard that I had to hold myself back from screaming because of the pain.
I understand that drawing blood from small veins can sometimes be challenging. However, there is no reason for a patient to be treated so roughly. I expected the procedure to be performed carefully, gently, and professionally.
This experience was very upsetting and disappointing. As a Kaiser member of more than 15 years, I have never made a complaint like this before. I believe this staff member needs to improve her technique and, especially, the way she handles patients during blood draws. Patients should not have to endure unnecessary pain because a procedure is performed without enough care or gentleness.
I am submitting this complaint because I hope Kaiser will take this matter seriously and provide appropriate feedback or training to prevent another patient from having the same experience.
The medical clerks and nurses were very kind and caring. The attending doctor was awesome. He cared about my issue and did what he could to make me feel better. He was very nice too!

I would like to recognize Andres Franco for the outstanding service he provided today. He went above and beyond to help me, taking the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and ensure everything was handled thoroughly and professionally.
Andres was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping me find a solution. His positive attitude and dedication made a stressful situation much easier, and I truly appreciated the extra effort he put in to assist me.

I had a wrist injury and went to the Pasadena urgent care. The service was great with such efficiency! I was called by the nurse for triaging even before I completed my registration at the kiosk! Appropriate diagnostic tests were done with results ready In time for clinician evaluation. The staff were Respectful and courteous, especially Armen in radiology.
I prefer going to the Kaiser Pasadena medical office, instead of driving all the way to the Kaiser L.A. Medical Center and dealing with the traffic. It’s usually not too crowded at the Kaiser Pasadena medical office. However, if you do end up waiting for your appointment, then there’s ample seating in the waiting room or in the shady outdoor courtyard.
I had an appointment with Dr. Tammy Yao in Family Practice today. I only had to wait about 5 minutes in the waiting room on the 4th floor before my name was called.
Dr. Yao is nice and friendly. She listened to my medical concerns attentively and she examined the skin irritations on my face and neck carefully. Then she prescribed some topical creams for me to use on my face and my neck separately.
Dr. Yao’s nurse assistant Ashley is also nice and caring. She carefully took my vitals…weight, temperature, and blood pressure and she explained what she was going to do the whole time. At the end of my appointment, she called ahead to the pharmacy to order my prescriptions. This helped me to save some time and to avoid waiting a long time at the pharmacy. Basically, my prescriptions were ready for pick up at the pharmacy by the time I went downstairs.
